Baseball Programs

League Age

Your child's baseball age is calculated by determining their age on or before April 30th of the current season.


T-ball

This program is for 4-5 year old boys and girls who have not played any organized baseball or softball.  PYBS encourages all first time players under 6 years of age complete one season of T-Ball prior to moving to Rookie League level baseball or Instructional Softball.

T-Ball, Rookie, and Instructional levels start the end of April/Beginning of May end around the second or third week of June.   

Games/Practices will be Saturday morning/early afternoon. Times will be determined and dependent on the number of teams.

 

Rookie League Baseball (Coach Pitch)

This program is for 6-8 year old baseball players.  Designed primarily for ballplayers ages 6-8, this division makes uses the coaches to pitch to allow for more hitable balls at the plate and more action in the field.  Emphasis is on starting to learn the game and rules of baseball.  All positions will begin to be developed at this level including pitching and catching.

T-Ball, Rookie and Instructional levels start the end of April/Beginning of May end around the second or third week of June. 

Rookie League will practice 1-2 times a week and will have 2 games per week. Games are generally Saturday afternoons and one time during the week.  Practice days/times/field are at the coaches discretion. Rookie will play in the Macintosh league and have both home games as well as away games. Away games include Townsend, Groton, Ayer, Shirley and Lunenburg.

 

Minor League Baseball

Recommended for ballplayers ages 8-10. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork.

All players must attend Minor League tryouts to qualify and ensure proper placement on a team.  This may include placement on a Rookie League team, based on evaluation. 

All teams at this level are part of Macintosh Baseball League which will involve travel to local towns to play. 

*Fee does not include mandatory uniform fee that must be paid in order to play games.  The participant will keep this uniform at the end of the season. 

 

Major 60 League Baseball

This division is recommended for ballplayers ages 11-12. Features a 46' pitching distance and 60' base paths.   

All players must attend Major League tryouts to qualify and properly placed on a team. 

All teams at this level are part of Macintosh Baseball League which will involve travel to local towns to play. 

*Fee does not include mandatory uniform fee that must be paid in order to play games.  The participant will keep this uniform at the end of the season.

 

Major 70 League Baseball

Featuring a 50' pitching distance and 70' base paths, this division is offered as an option to current league format, and still includes a tournament trail from District competition through World Series.

All players must attend Major League tryouts and be selected to play on this team.  Do not register for this team unless you were informed that your child was selected to this team based on the Major 70 tryout process.

All teams at this level are part of Macintosh Baseball League which will involve travel to local towns to play.

Junior Babe Ruth League Baseball  

Founded in 1951, Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12

Junior Babe Ruth's season will start at the end of April and run through mid July. Practices will begin at the end of April and Games will begin second or third week in May to allow high school players the ability to participate. 

Pepperell is part of the North Central Babe Ruth League.

Senior Babe Ruth League Baseball

The primary objective of the 16-18 Division is to provide a community level program which eventually gives players the chance to compete to reach the 16-18 Year-Old World Series.
 
Senior Babe Ruth (high school division) will start 1st week of June and run till end of July.

Pepperell is part of the North Central Babe Ruth League
